Workroom Notes
Workroom know-how we've been building since the 1970s, written down for the designers we work with. Use these notes to choose headings, linings, and fabrics, measure with confidence, and send us a project we can quote accurately the first time.

Pleat Styles
Every pleat style below is included in our base drapery price, except goblet and cartridge tops, which carry a small per-width charge. For double and triple pleats, tell us where to tack: at the top or at the base.
Inverted
What it looks like: Folds turned to the back for a flat, tailored face
Best for: Modern rooms; works with minimal fullness
Triple Pleat
Tack at Top or Bottom
What it looks like: Three folds tacked at the top or base of the heading. If at bottom, fan open below.
Best for: At top: Classic and tailored; our most versatile heading. At bottom: A lighter, more contemporary classic
Single Forward
What it looks like: One fold per pleat, facing forward
Best for: Clean, modern looks; also works with minimal fullness
Goblet + Cartridge
What it looks like: Rounded, stuffed tops that hold their shape
Best for: Formal rooms and stationary panels
Double Pleat
What it looks like: Two folds per pleat
Best for: A softer, more relaxed take on the classic pinch pleat
Mushroom, Cottage, + More
What it looks like: Specialty headings, plus casing tops for café curtains
